Lunch
Well, you could say that he liked the carrot and sweetcorn he had for lunch today. Just look at him! He LOVED it, couldn't seem to swallow it quick enough, to try and shove even more into his mouth.
We had to fight over the spoon today too....and the bowl. It's amazing how strong his grip can be.
And it had to be straight from lunch and into the bath, he made such a mess with his joyous eating. Orange mush down to his ankles.

Sunday

We strolled around the market this morning, buying some lovely fruit and vegies from local farmers, and little bits and bobs made by local crafty people. And doing lots of eating - hot roast beef sandwiches, freshly cooked Italian doughnuts and homemade lemonade.
We then popped out to South Melbourne, so Luis could buy the mincer attachment for the Kitchen Aid......I can tell there are going to be some delicious homemade burgers happening in a kitchen near here soon.
Toby tried to eat a nectarine and seemed to like it...

and he just keeps rolling onto his tummy and getting frustrated. Not sure if its because he can't roll back, or if its because he want to be on the move....

Teeth!
A normal day again
After a bit of a miserable weekend full of illness in the house, things were starting to get back to normal today.
Toby had some solid food again (he didn't have any for the past few days as I was too ill to make it) and was greatly excited by it (it was mashed banana after all)
So excited, that he flicked it all over his face.

We even watched Deal or No Deal together, which Toby also loves - I think he thinks all the clapping and cheering is for him....
ooooh, does the case contain $200,000?

ah! you missed out, its $100 (thats how much the contestant won today, should have taken the deal) Toby was greatly disappointed for them...

Food, glorious food
Toby ate solid food for the first time yesterday!
He just loved it, his face scrunched up as I put the first spoonful in, but once he tasted it he gave me the biggest smile I have ever seen. He then proceeded to gobble the whole bowl full, trying to help me guide the spoon into his mouth with his own little hands. Though he is more of a hindrance than a help. He was getting so excited and forceful with his guidance that it kept missing his mouth and landing on his chin. He also kept trying to grab the bowl....I dread to think what the floor and rug will look like in the weeks to come.....
He also found his bib rather tasty afterwards too.

Melting
It's the hottest day on record today, 46.5 degrees, and we are melting.
We went out this morning for breakfast with Michael our old neighbour, then Luis took Toby home while I quickly popped out to the market. It was like a ghost town there, I think everyone is hiding inside because it's so hot. It's like walking into an oven every time you step outside.
Luis decided to set up Toby's high chair whilst being in front of the air conditioner in readiness for him eating proper food. I think I might start him on solids soon because he's showing all the signs of being ready. He's growing up so fast!
Here is is giving the chair a test drive.
